Registration Info:

  • Entrance fee to the park - $7 per vehicle
  • Spring Fling Suggested Donation - $10 / person (pay at the shelter)

Participation is Limited

  • Participation is limited to State and Henry County COVID guidelines. This number is fluid. If the number of registrations exceed Henry County limits as of May1st, eligibility to attend will be determined by registration date on a first come first served basis. Registrants will be notified if they cannot be accommodated.

  • Water will be provided

  • Shelter is 1,900 square feet with ample picnic tables for social distancing
  • Parking available at shelter; limited to 40 vehicles
  • Camp-style chairs welcomed

  • Shelter is on a lakefront

About Summit Lake State Park:

An expansive view and good fishing beckon you to Summit Lake State Park, near New Castle. More than 2,680 acres, including a large lake await your visit. Summit Lake has an excellent bird watching and wildlife observation area. The property has always been an important area for waterfowl because of the many low-lying wet meadows and prairies. Migratory species have included rare species like the black tern, bald eagle, sandhill crane, American bittern, least bittern, king rail and osprey.
